Dear diary!<\/p>\n

Today mom took me to an event about environmental protection. I was so scared! People talked about their surroundings seriously. What will happen to my family if the human beings realize how badly we have destroyed their environment? How about the \u201cinvasion\u201d that dad has talked for days when the whole family gathering for dinner?<\/p>\n

But you don\u2019t have to worry my dear diary\u2026Phew! That\u2019s a difference between talking and doing. They know very well about my family, however, you would be surprised that 12,000 tons of plastic bags were used inViet Nam(2010), and the outlook is bigger and bigger with the increase by 8-10% per year. The thing is they cannot change their daily habit. Every time they go shopping, they even ask for more plastic bags, just because they don\u2019t bring their own bag and I am easy to be thrown away. Sometimes, they don\u2019t need me for just a single item they buy from a store, but they still use me because it is a habit! Humans are weak, lazy and careless. I believe that they cannot win in changing their habit. I dare you humans! (laugh out loud)<\/p>\n

Dear diary!<\/p>\n

It was raining outside our house. There is no doubt that I would see many friends on all of streets tomorrow. Even though it was not a big rain, there will be a flood in this city. You see, because people hardly know that we are very hard to destroy ourselves, so when they throw us away, we get stuck in sewers and the other water exit instructions for several years. After a rain, just a small rain, there is always a flood follow, and people can see a lot of plastic bags floating with it. Funny, right?<\/p>\n

To fix this problem, they make the goal in which they are going to decrease by 40% of consuming the amount of plastic bags from now on to 2015 inViet Nam. Well, I don\u2019t think they can overcome this situation because my brother told me that every family uses 1 kg of plastic bags per month, and 98.7% of these are indestructible. They usually bury us, but I don\u2019t think this is a good idea. In fact, it is very bad for the environment. First, we stop the growing of grass, and cause the erosion for soil. Second, we cover the roots of trees in order to make them die quickly. I hate trees!<\/p>\n

Once again, I dare you people! Can you reach the goal you have made? I don\u2019t think so.<\/p>\n

Dear diary!<\/p>\n

We are very powerful although we are small, and look harmless, just the outside. We impact not only the people right now, but also the next generations. As I said, we are very hard to be destroyed. Humans can\u2019t bury us for those reasons I explained last week. Now they think they can burn us? Oh no! People barely know that most of us made from original oil. As the result of that, if they burn us, we release fumes having dioxin and fura, and other dangerous kinds of toxic. These chemical toxics break the immune system, create cancers, and defects in children, and other terrible things to a human\u2019s health.<\/p>\n

I think the reason why people don\u2019t use the environment-friendly bags is just because they are more expensive than other plastic bags. If you consume a bio bag, or a paper bag, it will cost you nearly 10,000 dong. For a plastic bag, the seller usually give you one for free! In my opinion, you can reuse an environment-friendly bag for many times while you usually cannot reuse a plastic one. So, 10,000 dong is not very expensive when you recognize the true valuable behind it.<\/p>\n

I heard that the government is spending 85,000 billions in order to protect Viet Nam\u2019s environment. Once people are not able to change their consuming habit, 85,000 billions is still just a number. You have to have a crystal plan, and stick with it so that you can spend money wisely. Beside the tax, we should ban the sellers from giving plastic bags for free. If someone wants a plastic one, he has to pay for it. I think the government ought to support the companies which supply environment-friendly bags in the early phases by decreasing or even cutting tax on them. The most important thing is we have to inform people, give them more information about the impact of plastic bags to their habitat.<\/p>\n

These are my ideas if I were a human, what would I do to take care of my home \u2013 my city? Because humans are ignorant and careless, they wouldn\u2019t mind thinking about their surroundings. Anyway, I need to keep this diary very carefully. When someone reads it, my family wouldn\u2019t have a chance to dominate this planet anymore. I\u2019m hiding it now. You people will never find it!<\/p>\n
